Smart Education in Canada : Canadore College Student and Graduate Satisfaction Outpaces Provincial Average

(NORTH BAY,ONT.) – For the second year in a row, Canadore College is above the provincial system’s average in six unique areas and boasts the highest graduation rate of all English language colleges according to the provincial Key Performance Indicator (KPI) survey results released today.

Overall, Canadore exceeds the provincial average in graduate readiness, graduate satisfaction and overall student satisfaction. In comparison to its peer colleges, Canadore’s students feel more confident that their program is giving them the knowledge and skills they need to be useful in their future career, are more assured by the overall quality of the learning experiences in their program and express greater satisfaction in the overall quality of the services at the college.

“The marketplace is looking to hire highly-skilled college graduates,” said George Burton, President and CEO of Canadore College. “A college education leads to employment because programs are designed to be career-focused, providing our graduates with important benefit of applied learning.”

Ontario’s colleges offer more than 600 programs that prepare people for a wide range of careers in everything from aviation, business, biotechnology, advertising, nursing and much more.

The college graduates’ success in the workforce is particularly noteworthy as students, parents and employers look for a stronger alignment between postsecondary education and the labour market. Growing numbers of students are pursuing combinations of college and university education and the number of university graduates enrolled in college programs has increased more than 40 per cent over the past five years.

Since 1998, the provincial KPIs have been gathered annually by two independent research firms for the colleges and for the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The most recent data were collected from March 2014 to February 2015.

Canadore trains people through applied learning, leadership and innovation. It provides access to over 65 full-time quality programs and has outstanding faculty and student services. The College and its students add nearly $290 million to the regions of Nipissing and Parry Sound. Approximately 1,000 students graduate from Canadore each year, and they join 41,000 alumni working across the globe.

"Canada is not only known for it's picturesque locations, but also for it's high standard of education. The Colleges in Canada are at par with the best known Colleges in the world, in terms of the educational programs offered and the facilities provided to the students " , says Mr. Deepak, Education Manager, Career XL Services..
