Recruitment has already begun for the new roles, which will be mainly in customer care, sales and technical support. Among the roles being filled are a national sales manager, two regional sales manager and three supervisory roles. Once the positions have been filled, the company will total 80 employees.

“The last couple of years have been very good for us. We’ve been building a war chest up and now we’re trying to build the business and using internal funds to do it,” Pure Telecom director said.

“It’s a significant jump in staff numbers.”

Most of the staff will be based at Pure Telecom’s offices in Citywest, Dublin.

Behind the current recruitment drive is Pure Telecom’s target of increasing its customers from 30,000 to 45,000.

The company recently announced it would enter the home broadband market, following a €20 million deal with Eircom Wholesale.

Purely Broadband is aimed at those who don’t have or want a landline at home, and will use infrastructure already in place by telecoms companies such as Eircom, BT and Magnet. Pure Telecom is aiming to sign up 10,000 customers throughout in the first 12 months, and the new staff will be needed to achieve that goal.
