Smart Education in UK : Two Call Centre Firms To Create 300 Glasgow Jobs

Two contact centre companies, Parseq and Webhelp UK, are to create around 400 in Glasgow between them.

Parseq will create 250 new jobs in Glasgow, whilst Webhelp UK will add a further 50 call centre vacancies as the two firms expand their respective businesses.

Parseq already employs 350 staff in Glasgow, but is set to move to new offices which will allow it to increase its headcount in the Scottish city by around 70 per cent.

Parseq’s managing director, Graham Stein, said their announcement represented a long term commitment to both Glasgow and Scotland.

Praising the workforce of Glasgow, Mr Stein added: “Our new location means we have the potential to create a further 250 new roles and together with local partners Scottish Enterprise and Invest Glasgow we hope to encourage more people into skilled employment. The high calibre of talent available in Glasgow paired with our exceptionally high corporate standards is a combination our clients tell us they respect and welcome as a strategic partner, so it not only makes sense for us to expand our footprint in Scotland, but it’s an investment we feel is paramount to our future success.”

Meanwhile, Webhelp UK has also recently relocated to bigger offices and has already added 100 new Glasgow call centre jobs in the last quarter. The firm said it expects to advertise a further 50 jobs in the near future, taking its headcount in the city to around 1,100 members of staff. Across the UK, Webhelp now employs approximately 7,500 people in full and part time roles.

Webhelp UK’s Chief Executive Officer, David Turner, said: “Our new CityPark hub is a world class facility designed to keep our clients’ customers at the very centre of everything that we do. To do this, we needed to create the best quality environment for our people."
