Smart Education in Ireland : Bluemetrix to create 15 new jobs in Cork

Cork-based big data and analytics firm Bluemetrix is to create 20 new jobs following a partnership with Hortonworks.

The company said 15 of these jobs will be based at the company’s head office in Cork, while a further five will be in the firm’s Japanese office. The firm aims to fill the jobs by the end of 2016.

Bluemetrix founder and chief executive Liam English said the company was looking for Linux experts, adding that they will receive a further 18 months of training in Hadoop.

“At the moment there is a scarcity of Hadoop expertise worldwide. We will address this problem by training people to use the latest Hadoop technology in actual operational environments, and at the end of their training they will be recognised as senior hadoop administrators,” he said.

Bluemetrix provides customised data analytics and consultancy services to customers in Europe and Japan including Ryanair, RTE, Kantar Media and Toshiba.

"Ireland is emerging the best place to study nowadays...many students are selecting Ireland because the country offers many good reasons which no other country till now offers", says Mr. Deepak, Education Manager, Career XL Services..
