Smart Education in Canada : Lambton College graduates are finding jobs faster than their provincial counterparts

Lambton College graduates are getting jobs at a higher rate than their provincial counterparts. According to the latest Key Performance Indicator (KPI) report, Lambton College boasts one of the highest graduate employment rates in Ontario.

A total of 88.8 per cent of Lambton College’s 2013-14 graduates reported finding employment within six months of graduation, ranking the college third overall among Ontario’s 24 colleges. This means graduates of Lambton College programs are securing employment at a rate that’s almost 5 per cent higher than the provincial average of 84 per cent.

“We are very pleased with this report, but not surprised,” says Judith Morris, President & CEO, Lambton College. “Lambton College continuously strives to align programs and training with the needs of industry, so our students have the ability to pursue a wide range of employment opportunities when they graduate.”

In addition to high employment rates, Lambton College also ranked second in the province for graduate satisfaction with 86.8 per cent reporting high satisfaction rates, and almost 7 per cent higher than the provincial average of 80 per cent.

“These results are a reflection of how hard we work at Lambton College to prepare our graduates to move beyond the classroom with the skills needed to succeed in a competitive job market,” says Morris. “Our courses are led by experienced faculty and our facilities are designed to provide students with the skills and training they need to embrace real-world challenges with knowledge and confidence.”

The annual survey evaluates all of the province’s 24 community colleges through five KPIs. Results are based on independently gathered figures from Ontario community college students.
