NEW LOGISTICS HUB IN SOUTH COUNTY DUBLIN COULD CREATE 1,000 JOBS

It was announced today that Mountpark Logistics EU has received approval for the development of a major logistics hub in South County Dublin.

It is estimated that 120 jobs will be created during the construction phase which is targeted to start in Summer 2017, with up to 850 jobs expected to be created by the companies operating from the hub.

There will be up to 150 additional ancillary services jobs also. Overall, the scheme could deliver 1,000 jobs to South Dublin. The project will be the largest speculative logistics development in Ireland.

Work has already begun to identify contractors for the project and the company intends to proceed to development as a matter of priority. Following commencement of construction work will begin to market the properties to potential tenants.

A number of recent reports have highlighted a significant shortage of purpose built logistics facilities in the Dublin region. The project will be marketed by CBRE Dublin. It is expected that demand for a purpose built modern logistics facility will be strong.

Mountpark Logistics EU, a joint venture between UK based Mountpark and the USAA Real Co company of America, specialises in building logistics centres.

Formed in 2014, the joint venture is already engaged in projects in the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Among the larger projects completed in the UK are the Mountpark Bardon (near Junction 22 on M1 motorway) and Airport City Manchester and Sered in Bratisava, all anchored by Amazon.

Speaking today, Phillip O’Callaghan of Mountpark said, "There is no project currently in Ireland of the quality of specification that we are planning to build. This facility will be built to meet the requirements of modern logistics companies. We know, from the discussions we have already held with businesses and development bodies, that there is strong demand for well-located hubs such as this."

"We believe that the project will facilitate agencies such as the IDA and South Dublin County Council in attracting companies to the region. We look forward to working with local stakeholders to deliver a long term benefit for South County Dublin and for Mountpark."

"Ireland is emerging the best place to study nowadays...many students are selecting Ireland because the country offers many good reasons which no other country till now offers", says Mr. Deepak, Education Manager, Career XL Services..
