In the recently released Ontario College Key Performance Indicators (KPI) survey, Fanshawe's graduate employment rate was announced at 87.6 per cent, exceeding the provincial average by four per cent.

It was another good news year for Fanshawe as the College performed exceptionally well across all dimensions of the survey, surpassing the provincial average in all five KPI measures – student satisfaction, graduate satisfaction, graduate employment, employer satisfaction and graduation rate.

The College ranked first among the larger Ontario colleges for graduate and employer satisfaction, graduate employment, graduation rate and second for student satisfaction.

Employers who have hired Fanshawe's 2014-15 graduates are also very satisfied – 96 per cent responded very satisfied/satisfied when asked about their Fanshawe graduate. This exceeds the provincial average of 91.4 per cent by nearly five per cent and reflects an increase of 8.2 per cent from last year for the College.

“Fanshawe is committed to providing leading-edge programs for students to ensure they are prepared for successful careers,” said Fanshawe President Peter Devlin. “These survey results confirm we are meeting their needs, as well as the needs of employers.”

Overall, Fanshawe's graduation rate of 71.4 per cent is more than five per cent above the provincial average of 66.7 per cent. The KPI graduation rates for the College's two and three year diploma programs is the highest within the large colleges. The overall KPI graduation rate for Fanshawe is one of the best amongst its competitors.

The college graduates' success in the workforce is noteworthy as students, parents and employers look for a stronger alignment between post-secondary education and the labour market. Now, more than ever, students are choosing a combination of a college and university education as the number of university graduates enrolled in college programs has increased more than 50 per cent over the past five years.

“College education continues to lead to employment,” said Linda Franklin, president and CEO of Colleges Ontario. “At a time when it is difficult for young people to find good jobs, it is important for students and parents to explore the wide range of career-focused programs available at colleges.”

Satisfaction with Fanshawe continues well beyond graduation as six months after graduation, 83 per cent of Fanshawe graduates report they were very satisfied/satisfied with their post-secondary education – a score that is above the provincial average of 80 per cent.
