UK::~CXL~Study BEng Aerospace Engineering from Bristol University, UK

Bristol is one of the most popular and successful universities in the UK and was ranked within the top 5% of universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2019. Bristol consistently ranks in the world's top 100 and UK's top ten universities in league tables that draw on information about both research and teaching excellence. We are one of the most popular UK universities, attracting on average eight top-quality applicants for every place, and our graduates are among the most sought-after by employers across the globe.

The QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2019 place Bristol at 47th in the world and 6th in the UK out of the 660 global institutions analysed. As well as evaluating graduate employment rates, the rankings looked at the opinions of over 40,000 employers and evaluated nearly 200,000 work placement partnerships. Bristol has 139 internship partnerships, 336 companies actively present on campus in the past year, a graduate employment rate of 94 per cent after six months, and research collaborations with 55 leading companies. It scored most highly for its reputation with employers.

Aerospace Engineering:: More than a century since Bristol produced its first aircraft, the south-west of England is now one of the largest centres for the aerospace industry in Europe. The department has close links with major industrial companies, including Leonardo, Airbus and Rolls-Royce. Our curriculum is linked closely to our research and our academics are world leaders in aerodynamics, composites, control, vibrations and systems. By specialising in aerospace from the very start you will study a wide range of technical subjects, all contributing to the design of future aircraft and spacecraft.

Why study Aerospace Engineering at Bristol? Our degrees combine theory with practical experience and are tailored to give you the skills needed to design an aircraft or spacecraft. You will study a range of subjects - aerodynamics, structures, materials, systems, design, control - and gain experience of making them work together through projects. In your research project, which covers your third and fourth year, you will tackle a specific problem in much greater detail, such as automated landing of an Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) or design of a potential space mission. If you choose the MEng, as part of a group design project, you will work on the concept for a new commercial aircraft, presenting your design to Airbus for assessment.

BEng Aerospace Engineering:: This three-year course covers a broad range of subjects organised into three streams: aerodynamics dynamics and control structures and materials. These subjects are specialised from day one and are taught with aerospace applications and examples.

The first two years are devoted to core concepts, taught via lectures and backed up by practical experience through coursework and lab work. Further material, such as space applications and aviation operations, are covered in specialist units. You will also learn skills that cross all the streams, such as computing, systems engineering and design. There is extensive mathematical content throughout. In year three there is greater flexibility for you to pursue options that interest you. Some units relate to particular application areas, such as aeroelasticity or computational aerodynamics. Others units study particular technologies, such as composites analysis, experimental aerodynamics or optimisation. The diversity of topics in our Aerospace Engineering course makes this a very challenging degree, but the reward is a uniquely broad education.

Accreditation This course is recognised by the following organisations: The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.

What are my career prospects? Our graduate employment record is excellent and our links to industry and Royal Aeronautical Society accreditation ensure that our graduates are highly regarded in the commercial sector. Our Industrial Liaison Office organises company engagement from year one, which continues through all years of the course, making the most of the many aerospace companies nearby. Many graduates enter careers in other high-technology sectors, such as Formula 1, wind and marine power generation and defence contracting, while others go into further research.

Mr. Deepak,Education Manager, Career XL Services says starting salaries for aerospace engineers range from £22,000 to £28,000. With experience this can rise to between £28,000 and £40,000, depending on the level of your expertise. At senior levels, particularly if you gain chartered status, you can expect a salary of £45,000 to £60,000+
