Smart Education in Ireland : 120 New Jobs with Irish cloud computing and IT services company Ergo

Irish cloud computing and IT services company Ergo is to create 120 jobs over the next two years.

Ergo's expansion follows its acquisition of another technology focused company, iSite, for an undisclosed fee. The purchase of iSite, which provides customer relationship management software and IT resources to customers, will see Ergo’s workforce grow from 200 to 330 and its revenues rise by a third over the coming year.

The company also plans to create a further 120 new jobs within two years through additional growth of its business.

Ergo will also launch a new spin off business, called Ergo Resourcing, which will provide on-site IT skills for clients. In addition the company aims to grow its business outside Ireland and has steadily increased the share of its revenues coming from Britain in recent years.

Ergo was founded in 1993 as a printer specialist company by Tim Sheehy and John Purdy, who last year won the EY Industry Entrepeneur of the Year.

Its growth has been supported by the Department of Jobs through Enterprise Ireland, and Minister Richard Bruton said the firm is a great example of the type of innovative, fast-growing Irish companies the Government is trying to encourage.
